इ॒दं स्व॑रि॒दमिदा॑स वा॒मम॒यं प्र॑का॒श उ॒र्व१॒॑न्तरि॑क्षम् । हना॑व वृ॒त्रं नि॒रेहि॑ सोम ह॒विष्ट्वा॒ सन्तं॑ ह॒विषा॑ यजाम ॥
इदं स्वरिदमिदास वाममयं प्रकाश उर्वन्तरिक्षम् । हनाव वृत्रं निरेहि सोम हविष्ट्वा सन्तं हविषा यजाम ॥
idaṃ svar idam id āsa vāmam ayam prakāśa urv antarikṣam | hanāva vṛtraṃ nirehi soma haviṣ ṭvā santaṃ haviṣā yajāma ||
English translation:
“(Agni or Varuṇa speak). This, O Soma, is heaven; this verily was beautiful this (was) the light, thebroad firmament; let us together slay Vṛtra; come forth; we worship with an oblation you who are yourselfoblation.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Soma means the moon, as well as Soma, the product; this is a plural y on the word, Soma
