Rig Veda 10.110.10

उ॒पाव॑सृज॒ त्मन्या॑ सम॒ञ्जन्दे॒वानां॒ पाथ॑ ऋतु॒था ह॒वींषि॑ । वन॒स्पति॑: शमि॒ता दे॒वो अ॒ग्निः स्वद॑न्तु ह॒व्यं मधु॑ना घृ॒तेन॑ ॥
उपावसृज त्मन्या समञ्जन्देवानां पाथ ऋतुथा हवींषि । वनस्पतिः शमिता देवो अग्निः स्वदन्तु हव्यं मधुना घृतेन ॥
upāvasṛja tmanyā samañjan devānām pātha ṛtuthā havīṃṣi | vanaspatiḥ śamitā devo agniḥ svadantu havyam madhunā ghṛtena ||

English translation:

“Offer of your own will in due season the food (and other) oblations of the gods besmearing it. LetVanaspati, Śamitā, the divine Agni, sweeten the oblation with honey and butter.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Vanaspatī = the deifiedyūpa, or sacrificial post; or, the ṛca may be addressed to the priest;

Śamitā: immolator of the victim. The post,the immolator and the fire are here deified as the chief instrumental uments or agents of the sacrifice
