दैवी॑ पू॒र्तिर्दक्षि॑णा देवय॒ज्या न क॑वा॒रिभ्यो॑ न॒हि ते पृ॒णन्ति॑ । अथा॒ नर॒: प्रय॑तदक्षिणासोऽवद्यभि॒या ब॒हव॑: पृणन्ति ॥
दैवी पूर्तिर्दक्षिणा देवयज्या न कवारिभ्यो नहि ते पृणन्ति । अथा नरः प्रयतदक्षिणासोऽवद्यभिया बहवः पृणन्ति ॥
daivī pūrtir dakṣiṇā devayajyā na kavāribhyo nahi te pṛṇanti | athā naraḥ prayatadakṣiṇāso 'vadyabhiyā bahavaḥ pṛṇanti ||
English translation:
“(The Paṇis). What is Indra like, O Saramā? What is the appearance of him as whose messenger youhave come to this plural ce from afar? (They then say to one another:) Let her approach; let us make friends withher, and let her be the lord of our cattle.”
