वी॒रेण्य॒: क्रतु॒रिन्द्र॑: सुश॒स्तिरु॒तापि॒ धेना॑ पुरुहू॒तमी॑ट्टे । आर्द॑यद्वृ॒त्रमकृ॑णोदु लो॒कं स॑सा॒हे श॒क्रः पृत॑ना अभि॒ष्टिः ॥
वीरेण्यः क्रतुरिन्द्रः सुशस्तिरुतापि धेना पुरुहूतमीट्टे । आर्दयद्वृत्रमकृणोदु लोकं ससाहे शक्रः पृतना अभिष्टिः ॥
vīreṇyaḥ kratur indraḥ suśastir utāpi dhenā puruhūtam īṭṭe | ārdayad vṛtram akṛṇod u lokaṃ sasāhe śakraḥ pṛtanā abhiṣṭiḥ ||

English translation:

Indra is the chief of heroes, the doer of great deeds, to whom praise is well offered; yes, and the voiceof praise lauds him the invoked of many. He slew Vṛtra, he created light; Śakra, the conqueror, has overcome(hostile) hosts.”
