स हि द्यु॒ता वि॒द्युता॒ वेति॒ साम॑ पृ॒थुं योनि॑मसुर॒त्वा स॑साद । स सनी॑ळेभिः प्रसहा॒नो अ॑स्य॒ भ्रातु॒र्न ऋ॒ते स॒प्तथ॑स्य मा॒याः ॥
स हि द्युता विद्युता वेति साम पृथुं योनिमसुरत्वा ससाद । स सनीळेभिः प्रसहानो अस्य भ्रातुर्न ऋते सप्तथस्य मायाः ॥
sa hi dyutā vidyutā veti sāma pṛthuṃ yonim asuratvā sasāda | sa sanīḻebhiḥ prasahāno asya bhrātur na ṛte saptathasya māyāḥ ||
English translation:
“Armed with the bright lightning he goes to the (scene of) adoration; endowed with might he has seatedhimself on the spacious plural ce (of sacrifice); he (is) triumphant with his companions (the Maruts); the wiles of hisseventh brother do not (prevail) at the rite.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
His seventh brother: bhrātuḥ = one who has to share in distribution;
Seventh: the seventh of the Ādityas, Dhātā etc.; perhaps the rākṣasā heti is meant
