सम॑स्मि॒ञ्जाय॑मान आसत॒ ग्ना उ॒तेम॑वर्धन्न॒द्य१॒॑: स्वगू॑र्ताः । म॒हे यत्त्वा॑ पुरूरवो॒ रणा॒याव॑र्धयन्दस्यु॒हत्या॑य दे॒वाः ॥
समस्मिञ्जायमान आसत ग्ना उतेमवर्धन्नद्यः स्वगूर्ताः । महे यत्त्वा पुरूरवो रणायावर्धयन्दस्युहत्याय देवाः ॥
sam asmiñ jāyamāna āsata gnā utem avardhan nadyaḥ svagūrtāḥ | mahe yat tvā purūravo raṇāyāvardhayan dasyuhatyāya devāḥ ||
English translation:
“(Ūrvaśī). As soon as he was born the wives (of the gods) surrounded him, the spontaneouslyflowing rivers nourished him, for the gods reared you, Purūravā, for a mighty conflict, for the slaughter of theDasyus. (Nirukta, 3.47).”
