द्यावा॑ नो अ॒द्य पृ॑थि॒वी अना॑गसो म॒ही त्रा॑येतां सुवि॒ताय॑ मा॒तरा॑ । उ॒षा उ॒च्छन्त्यप॑ बाधताम॒घं स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ॥
द्यावा नो अद्य पृथिवी अनागसो मही त्रायेतां सुविताय मातरा । उषा उच्छन्त्यप बाधतामघं स्वस्त्यग्निं समिधानमीमहे ॥
dyāvā no adya pṛthivī anāgaso mahī trāyetāṃ suvitāya mātarā | uṣā ucchanty apa bādhatām aghaṃ svasty agniṃ samidhānam īmahe ||
English translation:
“May the vast maternal heaven and earth this day preserve us for our happiness, free from sin; may theopening dawn drive away our sin; we solicit the kindled fire for our welfare.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
May the opening dawn drive awayour sin: ucchanti = driving away the darkness-- ucchantī tamāṃsi bivāsayantī
