Rig Veda 10.31.3

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

अधा॑यि धी॒तिरस॑सृग्र॒मंशा॑स्ती॒र्थे न द॒स्ममुप॑ य॒न्त्यूमा॑: । अ॒भ्या॑नश्म सुवि॒तस्य॑ शू॒षं नवे॑दसो अ॒मृता॑नामभूम ॥
अधायि धीतिरससृग्रमंशास्तीर्थे न दस्ममुप यन्त्यूमाः । अभ्यानश्म सुवितस्य शूषं नवेदसो अमृतानामभूम ॥
adhāyi dhītir asasṛgram aṃśās tīrthe na dasmam upa yanty ūmāḥ | abhy ānaśma suvitasya śūṣaṃ navedaso amṛtānām abhūma ||

English translation:

“The sacrifice has been prepared; the invigorating portions (of thhe oblation) approach the beautiful(god) of excellent birth, as (the waters) at a holy spot (approach the gods); may we obtain the happiness ofheaven; may we have a real knowledge of the immortals.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Waters at a holy spot: as at a tīrtha (sacred ford) theportions of water sprinkled in the act of tarpaṇa (libation) go to the assembly of the gods; may we have a realknowledge: navedasaḥ = na na vettāro vettāra eva, i.e., svarūpato jñātāra eva, knowing person nally; thederivation is: not-knowers (cf. also Pāṇini 6.3.75); na paretam vetti, he does not know falsely
