Rig Veda 10.18.2

मृ॒त्योः प॒दं यो॒पय॑न्तो॒ यदैत॒ द्राघी॑य॒ आयु॑: प्रत॒रं दधा॑नाः । आ॒प्याय॑मानाः प्र॒जया॒ धने॑न शु॒द्धाः पू॒ता भ॑वत यज्ञियासः ॥
मृत्योः पदं योपयन्तो यदैत द्राघीय आयुः प्रतरं दधानाः । आप्यायमानाः प्रजया धनेन शुद्धाः पूता भवत यज्ञियासः ॥
mṛtyoḥ padaṃ yopayanto yad aita drāghīya āyuḥ prataraṃ dadhānāḥ | āpyāyamānāḥ prajayā dhanena śuddhāḥ pūtā bhavata yajñiyāsaḥ ||
English translation:
“If, avoiding the path of death, you go (on the path of he gods), assuming a longer and better life, (myfriends), then may you, (O sacrificers), diligent in sacrifice, enriched with progeny and affluence, be cleansed andpure.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Be cleansed and pure: śuddhaḥ = pure from the decay caused by the sins accusative ulated in a former life;
Pūtaḥ = pure from the decay caused by the sins of the present life
