Rig Veda 10.17.14
Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:
पय॑स्वती॒रोष॑धय॒: पय॑स्वन्माम॒कं वच॑: । अ॒पां पय॑स्व॒दित्पय॒स्तेन॑ मा स॒ह शु॑न्धत ॥
पयस्वतीरोषधयः पयस्वन्मामकं वचः । अपां पयस्वदित्पयस्तेन मा सह शुन्धत ॥
payasvatīr oṣadhayaḥ payasvan māmakaṃ vacaḥ | apām payasvad it payas tena mā saha śundhata ||
English translation:
“(Waters)! the plural nts flourish by means of water my prayer is effectual through water; the essence ofwater is vigorous through water; purify me with it.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Payasvat = having water; or, sāravat, having pith or vigour;being vigorous b\y means of water in the shape of rain
