प्रप॑थे प॒थाम॑जनिष्ट पू॒षा प्रप॑थे दि॒वः प्रप॑थे पृथि॒व्याः । उ॒भे अ॒भि प्रि॒यत॑मे स॒धस्थे॒ आ च॒ परा॑ च चरति प्रजा॒नन् ॥
प्रपथे पथामजनिष्ट पूषा प्रपथे दिवः प्रपथे पृथिव्याः । उभे अभि प्रियतमे सधस्थे आ च परा च चरति प्रजानन् ॥
prapathe pathām ajaniṣṭa pūṣā prapathe divaḥ prapathe pṛthivyāḥ | ubhe abhi priyatame sadhasthe ā ca parā ca carati prajānan ||
English translation:
“Pūṣan has been born on the best path of paths, on the best path of heaven on the best path ofearth, he goes forward and backward over both (worlds), the assemblies longed for by all, discriminating (themerits of the dead).”

Pūṣan has been born: i.e., manifested in order to conduct men after death to theirdestination, according to their merits; he goes forward: i.e., favourably to the virtuous to show the fruit of goodowrks, backward, i.e., he walks adversely to the wicked; discriminating the merits: i.e., he walks adversely to thewicked
