स ईं॒ रथो॒ न भु॑रि॒षाळ॑योजि म॒हः पु॒रूणि॑ सा॒तये॒ वसू॑नि । आदीं॒ विश्वा॑ नहु॒ष्या॑णि जा॒ता स्व॑र्षाता॒ वन॑ ऊ॒र्ध्वा न॑वन्त ॥
स ईं रथो न भुरिषाळयोजि महः पुरूणि सातये वसूनि । आदीं विश्वा नहुष्याणि जाता स्वर्षाता वन ऊर्ध्वा नवन्त ॥
sa īṃ ratho na bhuriṣāḻ ayoji mahaḥ purūṇi sātaye vasūni | ād īṃ viśvā nahuṣyāṇi jātā svarṣātā vana ūrdhvā navanta ||
English translation:
“It has been harnessed like a great wagon that bears heavy burdens in order to bring us many treasures; after this may all the races of men expecting our (attack) go to the desirable battle.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
After this: i.e., after harnessing of the wagon. ūrdhvā = asmād virodhād unmukhāni;
Svarṣātā = locative of svarṣāti, 'that which is fitted for the attainment of heaven, i.e., battle
