Rig Veda 9.70.9

पव॑स्व सोम दे॒ववी॑तये॒ वृषेन्द्र॑स्य॒ हार्दि॑ सोम॒धान॒मा वि॑श । पु॒रा नो॑ बा॒धाद्दु॑रि॒ताति॑ पारय क्षेत्र॒विद्धि दिश॒ आहा॑ विपृच्छ॒ते ॥
पवस्व सोम देववीतये वृषेन्द्रस्य हार्दि सोमधानमा विश । पुरा नो बाधाद्दुरिताति पारय क्षेत्रविद्धि दिश आहा विपृच्छते ॥
pavasva soma devavītaye vṛṣendrasya hārdi somadhānam ā viśa | purā no bādhād duritāti pāraya kṣetravid dhi diśa āhā vipṛcchate ||

English translation:

“Flow Soma, the showerer, for the banquet for the gods; enter the Soma-vessel dear to Indra; bring us safe past the hostile (rākṣasas) before the oppress us; for he who knows the country tells the direction to him who asks (the way).”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

He who knows the country: 'as by telling him he protects (helps) him, so do you who know the roads of the sacrifice protect us by telling us the sacrificial paths'
