यद्वाग्वद॑न्त्यविचेत॒नानि॒ राष्ट्री॑ दे॒वानां॑ निष॒साद॑ म॒न्द्रा । चत॑स्र॒ ऊर्जं॑ दुदुहे॒ पयां॑सि॒ क्व॑ स्विदस्याः पर॒मं ज॑गाम ॥
यद्वाग्वदन्त्यविचेतनानि राष्ट्री देवानां निषसाद मन्द्रा । चतस्र ऊर्जं दुदुहे पयांसि क्व स्विदस्याः परमं जगाम ॥
yad vāg vadanty avicetanāni rāṣṭrī devānāṃ niṣasāda mandrā | catasra ūrjaṃ duduhe payāṃsi kva svid asyāḥ paramaṃ jagāma ||
English translation:
“When Vāk, the queen, the gladdener of the gods, sits down (in the sacrifice) uttering things not to beunderstood, she milks water and food for the four quarters (of the earth); whither now is her best portion gone?”

Nirukta 11.28: Vāk here is the thunder; cf. RV 8.69.14; best portion = the rain, which sinks in the earth or istaken up by the sun's rays
