त्रिक॑द्रुकेषु॒ चेत॑नं दे॒वासो॑ य॒ज्ञम॑त्नत । तमिद्व॑र्धन्तु नो॒ गिर॑: ॥
त्रिकद्रुकेषु चेतनं देवासो यज्ञमत्नत । तमिद्वर्धन्तु नो गिरः ॥
trikadrukeṣu cetanaṃ devāso yajñam atnata | tam id vardhantu no giraḥ ||
English translation:
“The gods extended the heaven-revealing sacrifice in the Trikadruka days-- may our praise prosper iṭ”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
RV 8.13.18: yajñam = indra yaṣṭavyam; Trikadruka days: these are the first three days of the ābhiplava, areligious ceremony which lasts six days and is a part of the gavāmāyana sacrifice. The first three days areseverally called: jyotiṣ, go, āyus; the latter three: go, āyus. and jyotis
