अ॒ग्निं द्वेषो॒ योत॒वै नो॑ गृणीमस्य॒ग्निं शं योश्च॒ दात॑वे । विश्वा॑सु वि॒क्ष्व॑वि॒तेव॒ हव्यो॒ भुव॒द्वस्तु॑ॠषू॒णाम् ॥
अग्निं द्वेषो योतवै नो गृणीमस्यग्निं शं योश्च दातवे । विश्वासु विक्ष्ववितेव हव्यो भुवद्वस्तुॠषूणाम् ॥
agniṃ dveṣo yotavai no gṛṇīmasy agniṃ śaṃ yoś ca dātave | viśvāsu vikṣv aviteva havyo bhuvad vastur ṛṣūṇām ||
English translation:
“We praise Agni that he may keep off our enemies; we praise Agni that he may give us joy and security;he may be worshipped as the giver of dwellings to the ṛṣis; he who is as it were the protector of all men.”
