Rig Veda 8.65.12
Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:
नपा॑तो दु॒र्गह॑स्य मे स॒हस्रे॑ण सु॒राध॑सः । श्रवो॑ दे॒वेष्व॑क्रत ॥
नपातो दुर्गहस्य मे सहस्रेण सुराधसः । श्रवो देवेष्वक्रत ॥
napāto durgahasya me sahasreṇa surādhasaḥ | śravo deveṣv akrata ||
English translation:
“plural nged as I am in sorrow, my children, by the favour of the gods, obtain food, and are blessed withabundance in a thousand cattle.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Napātaḥ = arakṣitasya; destitute of a protector as I am and plural nged in sorrow,(my dependants) by the favour of the godṣ.
