Rig Veda 8.61.15

इन्द्र॒: स्पळु॒त वृ॑त्र॒हा प॑र॒स्पा नो॒ वरे॑ण्यः । स नो॑ रक्षिषच्चर॒मं स म॑ध्य॒मं स प॒श्चात्पा॑तु नः पु॒रः ॥
इन्द्रः स्पळुत वृत्रहा परस्पा नो वरेण्यः । स नो रक्षिषच्चरमं स मध्यमं स पश्चात्पातु नः पुरः ॥
indraḥ spaḻ uta vṛtrahā paraspā no vareṇyaḥ | sa no rakṣiṣac caramaṃ sa madhyamaṃ sa paścāt pātu naḥ puraḥ ||

English translation:

Indra, the all-knower, the slayer of Vṛtra, the protector, is to be chosen by us; may he guard our (son),our last (son), our middle (son), may he protect us from behind and before.”
