Rig Veda 8.60.7

यथा॑ चिद्वृ॒द्धम॑त॒समग्ने॑ सं॒जूर्व॑सि॒ क्षमि॑ । ए॒वा द॑ह मित्रमहो॒ यो अ॑स्म॒ध्रुग्दु॒र्मन्मा॒ कश्च॒ वेन॑ति ॥
यथा चिद्वृद्धमतसमग्ने संजूर्वसि क्षमि । एवा दह मित्रमहो यो अस्मध्रुग्दुर्मन्मा कश्च वेनति ॥
yathā cid vṛddham atasam agne saṃjūrvasi kṣami | evā daha mitramaho yo asmadhrug durmanmā kaś ca venati ||

English translation:

“As, Agni, you consume old timber on the earth, so, cherisher of friends, do you burn our injurer,whosoever evil-minded wishes (our ill).”
