आ बु॒न्दं वृ॑त्र॒हा द॑दे जा॒तः पृ॑च्छ॒द्वि मा॒तर॑म् । क उ॒ग्राः के ह॑ शृण्विरे ॥
आ बुन्दं वृत्रहा ददे जातः पृच्छद्वि मातरम् । क उग्राः के ह शृण्विरे ॥
ā bundaṃ vṛtrahā dade jātaḥ pṛcchad vi mātaram | ka ugrāḥ ke ha śṛṇvire ||

English translation:

“The slayer of Vṛtra, as soon as he was born, seized his arrow, and asked his mother, "who are theterrible, who are renowned?"”
