Rig Veda 8.39.5

स चि॑केत॒ सही॑यसा॒ग्निश्चि॒त्रेण॒ कर्म॑णा । स होता॒ शश्व॑तीनां॒ दक्षि॑णाभिर॒भीवृ॑त इ॒नोति॑ च प्रती॒व्यं१॒॑ नभ॑न्तामन्य॒के स॑मे ॥
स चिकेत सहीयसाग्निश्चित्रेण कर्मणा । स होता शश्वतीनां दक्षिणाभिरभीवृत इनोति च प्रतीव्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
sa ciketa sahīyasāgniś citreṇa karmaṇā | sa hotā śaśvatīnāṃ dakṣiṇābhir abhīvṛta inoti ca pratīvyaṃ nabhantām anyake same ||

English translation:

Agni is known by his most powerful and manifold deeds; he is the invoker of the eternals; surroundedby victims, he proceeds against the foe; may all our adversaries perish.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

The eternals: śasvatīnām =bahvīnām devatānām; against the foe: pratīvyam = yajñam;

Dakṣiṇābhiḥ = paśubhiḥ
