Rig Veda 8.31.14

अ॒ग्निं व॑: पू॒र्व्यं गि॒रा दे॒वमी॑ळे॒ वसू॑नाम् । स॒प॒र्यन्त॑: पुरुप्रि॒यं मि॒त्रं न क्षे॑त्र॒साध॑सम् ॥
अग्निं वः पूर्व्यं गिरा देवमीळे वसूनाम् । सपर्यन्तः पुरुप्रियं मित्रं न क्षेत्रसाधसम् ॥
agniṃ vaḥ pūrvyaṃ girā devam īḻe vasūnām | saparyantaḥ purupriyam mitraṃ na kṣetrasādhasam ||

English translation:

“I worship the divine Agni, the preceder of you, (gods), with praise, (for the sake) of riches; theworshippers (cherish him), the bountiful perfector of the sacrifice, like a friend.”
