Rig Veda 8.31.9

वी॒तिहो॑त्रा कृ॒तद्व॑सू दश॒स्यन्ता॒मृता॑य॒ कम् । समूधो॑ रोम॒शं ह॑तो दे॒वेषु॑ कृणुतो॒ दुव॑: ॥
वीतिहोत्रा कृतद्वसू दशस्यन्तामृताय कम् । समूधो रोमशं हतो देवेषु कृणुतो दुवः ॥
vītihotrā kṛtadvasū daśasyantāmṛtāya kam | sam ūdho romaśaṃ hato deveṣu kṛṇuto duvaḥ ||
English translation:
“Offering acceptable sacrifices, obtaining the wealth they solicit, presenting gratifying (oblations to thegods), for the sake of immortality enjoying person nal union, they (wife and husband) worship the gods.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Offeringacceptable sacrifices: vītihotrā = they whose sacrifices procure them happiness;
Kṛtadvasū =pātreṣūpayuktadhanau, bestowing your wealth on the suppliant; for the sake of immortality: amṛtāya = forthe increase of descendants, santānābhivṛddhaye
