Rig Veda 8.23.22

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

प्र॒थ॒मं जा॒तवे॑दसम॒ग्निं य॒ज्ञेषु॑ पू॒र्व्यम् । प्रति॒ स्रुगे॑ति॒ नम॑सा ह॒विष्म॑ती ॥
प्रथमं जातवेदसमग्निं यज्ञेषु पूर्व्यम् । प्रति स्रुगेति नमसा हविष्मती ॥
prathamaṃ jātavedasam agniṃ yajñeṣu pūrvyam | prati srug eti namasā haviṣmatī ||

English translation:

“The ladle charged with the oblation proceeds with reverence at sacrifices to the ancient Agni, the first(of the gods), the cognizant of all that exists.”
