तव॒ क्रत्वा॑ सनेयं॒ तव॑ रा॒तिभि॒रग्ने॒ तव॒ प्रश॑स्तिभिः । त्वामिदा॑हु॒: प्रम॑तिं वसो॒ ममाग्ने॒ हर्ष॑स्व॒ दात॑वे ॥
तव क्रत्वा सनेयं तव रातिभिरग्ने तव प्रशस्तिभिः । त्वामिदाहुः प्रमतिं वसो ममाग्ने हर्षस्व दातवे ॥
tava kratvā saneyaṃ tava rātibhir agne tava praśastibhiḥ | tvām id āhuḥ pramatiṃ vaso mamāgne harṣasva dātave ||
English translation:
“May I propitiate you, Agni, by worshipping you, by the gifts presented to you, by your praises; verily,Vasu, they have called you the benevolent- minded; delight, Agni, to give me wealth.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
They have called you: they,the pious sages, call you my protector, mama stotur rakṣakam tvām eva brahmavādinaḥ kathayanti
