Rig Veda 8.11.7

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

आ ते॑ व॒त्सो मनो॑ यमत्पर॒माच्चि॑त्स॒धस्था॑त् । अग्ने॒ त्वांका॑मया गि॒रा ॥
आ ते वत्सो मनो यमत्परमाच्चित्सधस्थात् । अग्ने त्वांकामया गिरा ॥
ā te vatso mano yamat paramāc cit sadhasthāt | agne tvāṃkāmayā girā ||

English translation:

Vatsa, by the praise that seeks to propitiate you, Agni, would draw your thought from the supremeassembly (of the gods).”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Vatsa = yajamāna, the sacrificer dear to Agni, as a calf, or child: vatsa samaḥ priyahh(Yajus. 12.115); would draw their thought: mano yamat = mana āyamavati; or, mana āhṛtya gṛhṇātimanonigraham karoti; tvāmāmayā girā = tvām kāmaye girā, I desire you with my hymn
