Rig Veda 8.11.6

विप्रं॒ विप्रा॒सोऽव॑से दे॒वं मर्ता॑स ऊ॒तये॑ । अ॒ग्निं गी॒र्भिर्ह॑वामहे ॥
विप्रं विप्रासोऽवसे देवं मर्तास ऊतये । अग्निं गीर्भिर्हवामहे ॥
vipraṃ viprāso 'vase devam martāsa ūtaye | agniṃ gīrbhir havāmahe ||

English translation:

“Prudent mortals, we invoke the sage deity Agni with hymns to propitiate him for our protection.”
