उ॒प॒ह्व॒रे गि॑री॒णां सं॑ग॒थे च॑ न॒दीना॑म् । धि॒या विप्रो॑ अजायत ॥
उपह्वरे गिरीणां संगथे च नदीनाम् । धिया विप्रो अजायत ॥
upahvare girīṇāṃ saṃgathe ca nadīnām | dhiyā vipro ajāyata ||

English translation:

“The wise (Indra) has been engendered by holy rites on the skirts of the mountains, at the confluence ofrivers.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

The wise Indra: vipra, the sage, Indra; or, medhāvi somaḥ;

Dhiyā = understanding; Soma is producedby the thought that wise men will perform the sacrifice by me. The purport of the ṛca: men ought to sacrifice inthose plural ces where Indra is manifested
