Rig Veda 8.3.18

इ॒मे हि ते॑ का॒रवो॑ वाव॒शुर्धि॒या विप्रा॑सो मे॒धसा॑तये । स त्वं नो॑ मघवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणो वे॒नो न शृ॑णुधी॒ हव॑म् ॥
इमे हि ते कारवो वावशुर्धिया विप्रासो मेधसातये । स त्वं नो मघवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणो वेनो न शृणुधी हवम् ॥
ime hi te kāravo vāvaśur dhiyā viprāso medhasātaye | sa tvaṃ no maghavann indra girvaṇo veno na śṛṇudhī havam ||

English translation:

“These wise celebrators (of holy rites) repeatedly propitiate you with pious praise for the acceptance ofthe sacrifice; do you, opulent Indra, who are entitled to praise, hear our invocation like one who listens to what hedesires.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Veno na (from vena, kānti-karmā), yathā jātābhilāṣaḥ puruṣaḥ kāmayitavyam aikāgryeṇaśṛṇoti, as a man full of desire listens attentively to that which is agreeable
