मो षु व॑रुण मृ॒न्मयं॑ गृ॒हं रा॑जन्न॒हं ग॑मम् । मृ॒ळा सु॑क्षत्र मृ॒ळय॑ ॥
मो षु वरुण मृन्मयं गृहं राजन्नहं गमम् । मृळा सुक्षत्र मृळय ॥
mo ṣu varuṇa mṛnmayaṃ gṛhaṃ rājann ahaṃ gamam | mṛḻā sukṣatra mṛḻaya ||
English translation:
“May I never go, royal Varuṇa, to a house made of clay; grant me happiness, possessor of wealth, grantme happiness.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
May I never: mo ṣu gṛham mṛṇmayam gamam: (implied) tvadīyam, your; ṣu he =suśobhanam suvarṇamayam, very handsome, made of gold;
Ṣu = but to your beautiful house, i.e. one made ofgold; grant me happiness: mṛḷaya = show mercy
