वास्तो॑ष्पते श॒ग्मया॑ सं॒सदा॑ ते सक्षी॒महि॑ र॒ण्वया॑ गातु॒मत्या॑ । पा॒हि क्षेम॑ उ॒त योगे॒ वरं॑ नो यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभि॒: सदा॑ नः ॥
वास्तोष्पते शग्मया संसदा ते सक्षीमहि रण्वया गातुमत्या । पाहि क्षेम उत योगे वरं नो यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
vāstoṣ pate śagmayā saṃsadā te sakṣīmahi raṇvayā gātumatyā | pāhi kṣema uta yoge varaṃ no yūyam pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ ||
English translation:
“Protector of the dwelling, may we be possessed of a comfortable, delightful, opulent abode, bestowedby you; protect our wealth, whether in possession or expectaion; and do you, (gods), ever cherish us withblessings.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Opulent: gatumatya = melodious; from ga, to sing; or, dhanavatī, having wealth; and do you god:yuyam = tvam, do you Vāstoṣpati etc.
