यदि॑न्द्र॒ पूर्वो॒ अप॑राय॒ शिक्ष॒न्नय॒ज्ज्याया॒न्कनी॑यसो दे॒ष्णम् । अ॒मृत॒ इत्पर्या॑सीत दू॒रमा चि॑त्र॒ चित्र्यं॑ भरा र॒यिं न॑: ॥
यदिन्द्र पूर्वो अपराय शिक्षन्नयज्ज्यायान्कनीयसो देष्णम् । अमृत इत्पर्यासीत दूरमा चित्र चित्र्यं भरा रयिं नः ॥
yad indra pūrvo aparāya śikṣann ayaj jyāyān kanīyaso deṣṇam | amṛta it pary āsīta dūram ā citra citryam bharā rayiṃ naḥ ||
English translation:
“That (wealth) Indra, which the prior has given to the posterior; which the elder may accept from theyounger; with which (the son) yet living dwells far away (separated from his father), confer, wonderful Indra, suchprecious riches upon us.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Which the prior: yad indra purvo aparaya sikṣan, what the father has given to the son,or the elder to the younger brotheṛ.. that which the father receives from the son or the elder brother from theyounger
