अहि॑रिव भो॒गैः पर्ये॑ति बा॒हुं ज्याया॑ हे॒तिं प॑रि॒बाध॑मानः । ह॒स्त॒घ्नो विश्वा॑ व॒युना॑नि वि॒द्वान्पुमा॒न्पुमां॑सं॒ परि॑ पातु वि॒श्वत॑: ॥
अहिरिव भोगैः पर्येति बाहुं ज्याया हेतिं परिबाधमानः । हस्तघ्नो विश्वा वयुनानि विद्वान्पुमान्पुमांसं परि पातु विश्वतः ॥
ahir iva bhogaiḥ pary eti bāhuṃ jyāyā hetim paribādhamānaḥ | hastaghno viśvā vayunāni vidvān pumān pumāṃsam pari pātu viśvataḥ ||
English translation:
“The ward of the fore-arm protecting it from the abrasion of the bow-string, surrounds the arm like a snake with its convulutions; may the brave man, experienced in the arts of war, defend a combatant on every side.”
