Rig Veda 6.66.6

त इदु॒ग्राः शव॑सा धृ॒ष्णुषे॑णा उ॒भे यु॑जन्त॒ रोद॑सी सु॒मेके॑ । अध॑ स्मैषु रोद॒सी स्वशो॑चि॒राम॑वत्सु तस्थौ॒ न रोक॑: ॥
त इदुग्राः शवसा धृष्णुषेणा उभे युजन्त रोदसी सुमेके । अध स्मैषु रोदसी स्वशोचिरामवत्सु तस्थौ न रोकः ॥
ta id ugrāḥ śavasā dhṛṣṇuṣeṇā ubhe yujanta rodasī sumeke | adha smaiṣu rodasī svaśocir āmavatsu tasthau na rokaḥ ||

English translation:

“THose fierce and powerfully arrayed (Maruts) unite by their strength the two beautiful (regions) heaven and earth; in them, the self-radiant, heaven and earth abide; the obstruction (of light) dwells not in those mighty ones.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Unite by their strength: by the rain, which may be said to form a bond of union between heaven and earth
