य ओजि॑ष्ठ इन्द्र॒ तं सु नो॑ दा॒ मदो॑ वृषन्त्स्वभि॒ष्टिर्दास्वा॑न् । सौव॑श्व्यं॒ यो व॒नव॒त्स्वश्वो॑ वृ॒त्रा स॒मत्सु॑ सा॒सह॑द॒मित्रा॑न् ॥
य ओजिष्ठ इन्द्र तं सु नो दा मदो वृषन्त्स्वभिष्टिर्दास्वान् । सौवश्व्यं यो वनवत्स्वश्वो वृत्रा समत्सु सासहदमित्रान् ॥
ya ojiṣṭha indra taṃ su no dā mado vṛṣan svabhiṣṭir dāsvān | sauvaśvyaṃ yo vanavat svaśvo vṛtrā samatsu sāsahad amitrān ||
English translation:
“Showerer (of benefits), Indra, grant us a son who shall be most vigorous, a delighter (of you by praise), a pious sacrificer, a liberal giver, who, mounted on a good steed, shall overthrow numerous good steeds, and conquer opposing enemies in combat.”
