Rig Veda 6.28.4

न ता अर्वा॑ रे॒णुक॑काटो अश्नुते॒ न सं॑स्कृत॒त्रमुप॑ यन्ति॒ ता अ॒भि । उ॒रु॒गा॒यमभ॑यं॒ तस्य॒ ता अनु॒ गावो॒ मर्त॑स्य॒ वि च॑रन्ति॒ यज्व॑नः ॥
न ता अर्वा रेणुककाटो अश्नुते न संस्कृतत्रमुप यन्ति ता अभि । उरुगायमभयं तस्य ता अनु गावो मर्तस्य वि चरन्ति यज्वनः ॥
na tā arvā reṇukakāṭo aśnute na saṃskṛtatram upa yanti tā abhi | urugāyam abhayaṃ tasya tā anu gāvo martasya vi caranti yajvanaḥ ||

English translation:

“Let not the dust-spurning (war) horse reach them nor let them fall in the way of sacrificial consecration let the cattle of the man who offers sacrifice wander about at large and without fear.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Not let them fall: na saṃskṛtatram abhyupayanti = viśasanādisaṃskādisaṃskāram nābhyupagacchantu, let them not go right to the consecration of immolation; as metonymy, perhaps the cows means their produce, milk and butter, which are constantly offered
