Rig Veda 6.16.23

स हि यो मानु॑षा यु॒गा सीद॒द्धोता॑ क॒विक्र॑तुः । दू॒तश्च॑ हव्य॒वाह॑नः ॥
स हि यो मानुषा युगा सीदद्धोता कविक्रतुः । दूतश्च हव्यवाहनः ॥
sa hi yo mānuṣā yugā sīdad dhotā kavikratuḥ | dūtaś ca havyavāhanaḥ ||

English translation:

“May that Agni indeed sit down (at our sacrifice), who in every age of man has been the invoker of the gods, doer of wise deeds, the messenger of the gods, the bearer of oblations.”
