हिर॑ण्यरूपमु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टा॒वय॑:स्थूण॒मुदि॑ता॒ सूर्य॑स्य । आ रो॑हथो वरुण मित्र॒ गर्त॒मत॑श्चक्षाथे॒ अदि॑तिं॒ दितिं॑ च ॥
हिरण्यरूपमुषसो व्युष्टावयःस्थूणमुदिता सूर्यस्य । आ रोहथो वरुण मित्र गर्तमतश्चक्षाथे अदितिं दितिं च ॥
hiraṇyarūpam uṣaso vyuṣṭāv ayaḥsthūṇam uditā sūryasya | ā rohatho varuṇa mitra gartam ataś cakṣāthe aditiṃ ditiṃ ca ||
English translation:
“At the break of dawn, at the rising of the sun, ascend Mitra and Varuṇa, your golden-bodied, metal-pillared car, and thence, behold the earth and its inhabitants.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Yajus. 10.15; ataścakṣāthe aditim ditim ca = aditim akahṇḍanīyam prajādikam, the divisible people; alternative reading: aditim = adinam, not base, i.e. vihitānuṣṭhātāram, one who follows what is prescribed, i.e., performs his religious duties;
Ditim = dinam, base or nāstikavṛttam, an infidel
