हयो॒ न वि॒द्वाँ अ॑युजि स्व॒यं धु॒रि तां व॑हामि प्र॒तर॑णीमव॒स्युव॑म् । नास्या॑ वश्मि वि॒मुचं॒ नावृत॒॒ पुन॑र्वि॒द्वान्प॒थः पु॑रए॒त ऋ॒जु ने॑षति ॥
हयो न विद्वाँ अयुजि स्वयं धुरि तां वहामि प्रतरणीमवस्युवम् । नास्या वश्मि विमुचं नावृतं पुनर्विद्वान्पथः पुरएत ऋजु नेषति ॥
hayo na vidvām̐ ayuji svayaṃ dhuri tāṃ vahāmi prataraṇīm avasyuvam | nāsyā vaśmi vimucaṃ nāvṛtam punar vidvān pathaḥ puraeta ṛju neṣati ||
English translation:
“The sage, (Pratikṣatra), has, of his own accord, attached himself to the burden (of sacrifice), like a horse (to a chariot); I support that transcendent and preservative load; I do not desire release from it, nor yet its reiterated imposition; the sage, going first, conducts (men) by the right path.”
