नाना॑ चक्राते य॒म्या॒३॒॑ वपूं॑षि॒ तयो॑र॒न्यद्रोच॑ते कृ॒ष्णम॒न्यत् । श्यावी॑ च॒ यदरु॑षी च॒ स्वसा॑रौ म॒हद्दे॒वाना॑मसुर॒त्वमेक॑म् ॥
नाना चक्राते यम्या वपूंषि तयोरन्यद्रोचते कृष्णमन्यत् । श्यावी च यदरुषी च स्वसारौ महद्देवानामसुरत्वमेकम् ॥
nānā cakrāte yamyā vapūṃṣi tayor anyad rocate kṛṣṇam anyat | śyāvī ca yad aruṣī ca svasārau mahad devānām asuratvam ekam ||

English translation:

“The twin pair (day and night) adopt various forms; one of them shines brightly, the other is black; twin sisters are they, one black and the other white; great and unequalled is the might of the gods.”
