हस्ते॑व श॒क्तिम॒भि सं॑द॒दी न॒: क्षामे॑व न॒: सम॑जतं॒ रजां॑सि । इ॒मा गिरो॑ अश्विना युष्म॒यन्ती॒: क्ष्णोत्रे॑णेव॒ स्वधि॑तिं॒ सं शि॑शीतम् ॥
हस्तेव शक्तिमभि संददी नः क्षामेव नः समजतं रजांसि । इमा गिरो अश्विना युष्मयन्तीः क्ष्णोत्रेणेव स्वधितिं सं शिशीतम् ॥
hasteva śaktim abhi saṃdadī naḥ kṣāmeva naḥ sam ajataṃ rajāṃsi | imā giro aśvinā yuṣmayantīḥ kṣṇotreṇeva svadhitiṃ saṃ śiśītam ||
English translation:
“Like two hands, Aśvins, be ever investing us with vigour; like heaven and earth, bestow upon us rain; give sharpness to the praises that are addressed to you, as they whet an axe upon a grindstone.”

Kṣṇotreṇa iva svadhitim = asim tejanaśāṇavat tīkṣṇī kurutam, sharpen like a sword or knife upon a whetstone
