त्रिः स॒प्त वि॑ष्पुलिङ्ग॒का वि॒षस्य॒ पुष्य॑मक्षन् । ताश्चि॒न्नु न म॑रन्ति॒ नो व॒यं म॑रामा॒रे अ॑स्य॒ योज॑नं हरि॒ष्ठा मधु॑ त्वा मधु॒ला च॑कार ॥
त्रिः सप्त विष्पुलिङ्गका विषस्य पुष्यमक्षन् । ताश्चिन्नु न मरन्ति नो वयं मरामारे अस्य योजनं हरिष्ठा मधु त्वा मधुला चकार ॥
triḥ sapta viṣpuliṅgakā viṣasya puṣyam akṣan | tāś cin nu na maranti no vayam marāmāre asya yojanaṃ hariṣṭhā madhu tvā madhulā cakāra ||
English translation:
“May the thrice-seven sparks (of Agni) consume the influence of the venom; they verily do not perish;nor shall we die; for, although afar off, the Sun, drawn by his coursers, will overtake the poison; the science of antidotes has converted you, (Poison), to ambrosia.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
The thice seven sparks: the seven tongues, or flames of fire, may be multiplied as red, white and black; or viśpuliṅgakā = catikā, a feminine le sparrow of which there are 21 varieties, eaters of poison with impunity
