अवो॑चाम नि॒वच॑नान्यस्मि॒न्मान॑स्य सू॒नुः स॑हसा॒ने अ॒ग्नौ । व॒यं स॒हस्र॒मृषि॑भिः सनेम वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम् ॥
अवोचाम निवचनान्यस्मिन्मानस्य सूनुः सहसाने अग्नौ । वयं सहस्रमृषिभिः सनेम विद्यामेषं वृजनं जीरदानुम् ॥
avocāma nivacanāny asmin mānasya sūnuḥ sahasāne agnau | vayaṃ sahasram ṛṣibhiḥ sanema vidyāmeṣaṃ vṛjanaṃ jīradānum ||
English translation:
“We address our pious prayers to you, Agni, the son of prayer, the subduer of foes; may we procure, by these sacred supplications, infinite wealth, that we may thence obtain food, strength and long life.”
