Rig Veda 1.188.11

पु॒रो॒गा अ॒ग्निर्दे॒वानां॑ गाय॒त्रेण॒ सम॑ज्यते । स्वाहा॑कृतीषु रोचते ॥
पुरोगा अग्निर्देवानां गायत्रेण समज्यते । स्वाहाकृतीषु रोचते ॥
purogā agnir devānāṃ gāyatreṇa sam ajyate | svāhākṛtīṣu rocate ||

English translation:

Agni, the preceder of the gods”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Purogā purogāmī; agniḥ kasmādagraṇīrbhavati (Nirukta 7.14), is characterized by the Gāyatrī measure; he blazes when the oblations are offered.
