यथा॒ पूर्वे॑भ्यो जरि॒तृभ्य॑ इन्द्र॒ मय॑ इ॒वापो॒ न तृष्य॑ते ब॒भूथ॑ । तामनु॑ त्वा नि॒विदं॑ जोहवीमि वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम् ॥
यथा पूर्वेभ्यो जरितृभ्य इन्द्र मय इवापो न तृष्यते बभूथ । तामनु त्वा निविदं जोहवीमि विद्यामेषं वृजनं जीरदानुम् ॥
yathā pūrvebhyo jaritṛbhya indra maya ivāpo na tṛṣyate babhūtha | tām anu tvā nividaṃ johavīmi vidyāmeṣaṃ vṛjanaṃ jīradānum ||

English translation:

“Inasmuch Indra, as you have been the (giver of) happiness to your ancient encomiasts, like water to one who is thirsty, therefore I constantly repeat this your praise, that I may thence obtain food, strength and long life.”
