त्वम॑ग्ने शशमा॒नाय॑ सुन्व॒ते रत्नं॑ यविष्ठ दे॒वता॑तिमिन्वसि । तं त्वा॒ नु नव्यं॑ सहसो युवन्व॒यं भगं॒ न का॒रे म॑हिरत्न धीमहि ॥
त्वमग्ने शशमानाय सुन्वते रत्नं यविष्ठ देवतातिमिन्वसि । तं त्वा नु नव्यं सहसो युवन्वयं भगं न कारे महिरत्न धीमहि ॥
tvam agne śaśamānāya sunvate ratnaṃ yaviṣṭha devatātim invasi | taṃ tvā nu navyaṃ sahaso yuvan vayam bhagaṃ na kāre mahiratna dhīmahi ||
English translation:
“Most youthful Agni, for the good of him who praises you and offers you libations, you make the precious (offering) acceptable to the gods; new-born of strength we glorify you who are to be lauded; to whom rich offerings (are to be presented); (we glorify you) in (our) hymn as (men eulogize) a powerful prince.”
