Rig Veda 1.127.9

त्वम॑ग्ने॒ सह॑सा॒ सह॑न्तमः शु॒ष्मिन्त॑मो जायसे दे॒वता॑तये र॒यिर्न दे॒वता॑तये । शु॒ष्मिन्त॑मो॒ हि ते॒ मदो॑ द्यु॒म्निन्त॑म उ॒त क्रतु॑: । अध॑ स्मा ते॒ परि॑ चरन्त्यजर श्रुष्टी॒वानो॒ नाज॑र ॥
त्वमग्ने सहसा सहन्तमः शुष्मिन्तमो जायसे देवतातये रयिर्न देवतातये । शुष्मिन्तमो हि ते मदो द्युम्निन्तम उत क्रतुः । अध स्मा ते परि चरन्त्यजर श्रुष्टीवानो नाजर ॥
tvam agne sahasā sahantamaḥ śuṣmintamo jāyase devatātaye rayir na devatātaye | śuṣmintamo hi te mado dyumnintama uta kratuḥ | adha smā te pari caranty ajara śruṣṭīvāno nājara ||

English translation:

“You, Agni, the destroyer (of enemies) by your strength, the possessor of great splendour, as born for the sake of sacrificing to the gods, as riches (are genitive rated) for the sake of sacrificing to the gods; verily your exhilaration is most brilliant, your worship is most productive of renown; hence, undecaying Agni, (sacrificers) wait upon you, like envoys (upon a prince; upon you), who preserve (your votaries) from decay.”

Ajara = undecaying, not causing decay; or, one who does not praise others; one to whom along praise is due
