Rig Veda 1.127.3

स हि पु॒रू चि॒दोज॑सा वि॒रुक्म॑ता॒ दीद्या॑नो॒ भव॑ति द्रुहंत॒रः प॑र॒शुर्न द्रु॑हंत॒रः । वी॒ळु चि॒द्यस्य॒ समृ॑तौ॒ श्रुव॒द्वने॑व॒ यत्स्थि॒रम् । नि॒:षह॑माणो यमते॒ नाय॑ते धन्वा॒सहा॒ नाय॑ते ॥
स हि पुरू चिदोजसा विरुक्मता दीद्यानो भवति द्रुहंतरः परशुर्न द्रुहंतरः । वीळु चिद्यस्य समृतौ श्रुवद्वनेव यत्स्थिरम् । निःषहमाणो यमते नायते धन्वासहा नायते ॥
sa hi purū cid ojasā virukmatā dīdyāno bhavati druhaṃtaraḥ paraśur na druhaṃtaraḥ | vīḻu cid yasya samṛtau śruvad vaneva yat sthiram | niḥṣahamāṇo yamate nāyate dhanvāsahā nāyate ||

English translation:

“Verily, that Agni, far shining with brilliant vigour, is the destroyer of foes, like a hatchet that cuts down trees; whatever is most solid and stable dissolves like water at his contact; unsparing, he sports (amidst enemies), nor desists (from their destruction), like an archer who retreats not (frombattle).”
