तन्मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्याभि॒चक्षे॒ सूर्यो॑ रू॒पं कृ॑णुते॒ द्योरु॒पस्थे॑ । अ॒न॒न्तम॒न्यद्रुश॑दस्य॒ पाज॑: कृ॒ष्णम॒न्यद्ध॒रित॒: सं भ॑रन्ति ॥
तन्मित्रस्य वरुणस्याभिचक्षे सूर्यो रूपं कृणुते द्योरुपस्थे । अनन्तमन्यद्रुशदस्य पाजः कृष्णमन्यद्धरितः सं भरन्ति ॥
tan mitrasya varuṇasyābhicakṣe sūryo rūpaṃ kṛṇute dyor upasthe | anantam anyad ruśad asya pājaḥ kṛṣṇam anyad dharitaḥ sam bharanti ||

English translation:

“The sun, is the sight of Mitra and Varuṇa, displays his form (of brightness) in the middle of the heavens, and his rays extend, on one hand, his infinite and brilliant power, or, on the other, (by their departure), bring on the blackness of night.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Mitra and Varuṇa, by metonymy, refer to the world. His rays: haritaḥ, may also mean his horses
