English translation:

“To the leaders (of the sacrifice), dwelling in the firmament, we present, as with a ladle, the appointed clarified butter, and praise with knowledge those Ṛbhus, who, having equalled the velocityof the protector (of the universe, the sun), ascended to the region of heaven, through (the offerings) of (sacrificial) food.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Nṛbhyaḥ = yajñasya netṛbhyaḥ; ṛbhavo hi yajñasya netāraḥ: 'the ṛbhus are the leaders of the sacrifice'; because of this position, they obtained immortality; the term is perhaps connected with antarikṣasya, to the chief of the firmament; ṛbhus also identified with the solar rays (ādityaraśmayo api ṛbhava ucyanti: the ṛbhus are, indeed, said to be the rays of the sun
